The Remedy Project stands with the family of Robert Brooks and all those calling for justice after his brutal murder at Marcy Correctional Facility. This atrocity, recorded on camera and involving 14 correctional officers, lays bare the corruption and unchecked abuse plaguing our prison system. It is a chilling reminder of the urgent need for accountability and systemic reform.
For too long, our nation has turned a blind eye to the horrors behind prison walls. The stories shared by our members—the dehumanization, neglect, and violence—reflect a system that destroys lives, families, and communities. This is not justice; this is a crisis.
TRP was founded to shine a light on these abuses and fight for a justice system that heals rather than harms. Led by students, formerly incarcerated individuals, and advocates, we work tirelessly to hold institutions accountable, amplify the voices of those impacted, and demand a culture shift that prioritizes humanity over punishment.
Robert Brooks' death must be the catalyst for change. We cannot wait for another tragedy. It is time to confront the systemic failures of our justice system and join together to build a future where dignity and decency prevail.
